📢 Selection of 36 municipalities to join the waste management network of the National Association of Tunisian Municipalities ♻️🏘️
As part of strengthening municipalities’ efforts to improve and develop their capacities in various aspects related to cleanliness and waste management, this initiative supports municipal staff to gain further knowledge, discover best practices, and exchange successful experiences in this field.
🟢 The National Association of Tunisian Municipalities announces the list of municipalities selected to join the waste management network, based on technical and objective criteria aimed at enhancing performance and developing municipal operations.
🗓 The call for applications to join the network was published on the Association’s official page from May 7, 2025, to June 12, 2025.
📬 More than 70 municipalities expressed their interest by submitting applications. A selection committee was then formed within the Association, and 36 municipalities were chosen according to the following criteria:
✅ Technical capacities and exemplary experiences of the municipality in waste management
✅ Expression of willingness and commitment to actively participate in network activities
✅ Payment of membership fees to the National Association of Tunisian Municipalities
✅ Designation of a representative from the cleanliness service for network activities
🌍 Geographic representation
📏 Size of the municipality (small / medium / large)
🏞️ Nature of the municipality (recent / extensive / rural / urban)
📌 Here is the list of selected municipalities:
Gabès – Bizerte – Laâyoune – Sfax – Mahdia – El Guetar – Monastir – Béja – Sidi Bou Saïd – Hammamet – Sidi Bouzid – Douz – Djerba Houmet Souk – Messaâdin – Dar Chaabane El Fehri – Ben Arous – Sousse – M’saken – Mohammedia – Aqrab – Kairouan – Metlaoui – Kasserine – Hajeb – Kerkennah – Haffouz – Borj – Les Fleurs – Hammam Bourguiba – Menzel Bouziane – Tataouine Sud – Dkhila Toujan – Bir El Hafi – Metlaoui – Sakiet Sidi Youssef – Hbira.
🤝 The network serves as a space for exchanging ideas and methodological proposals in the field of waste management, fostering collective reflection and sharing of opinions.
📍 The activities of this network are part of the “Local Strengthening” project of the National Association of Tunisian Municipalities, funded by the European Union 🇪🇺.
